The Halton Hills Pregnancy and Infant Loss Group are inviting local families to their first annual Pregnancy and Infant Loss Night of Remembrance.

Every year, families who have been impacted by the loss of a baby or pregnancy use Oct. 15 as a day of reflection. This year, families in Halton Hills will be able to gather with the community at the first annual event in the Town.

“On October 15, 2021, we remember all those babies born sleeping, those we’ve carried but never met, those we’ve held but could not take home and the ones that came home but could not stay,” reads the Town’s event page, which welcomes everyone to attend.

The event will take place this Friday, Oct. 15 at Cedarvale Park in Georgetown. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will follow with speakers and candle lighting at 7:00 p.m.

It will feature information for support services, stories shared by families and acts of remembrance to take part in.

“Come and meet other families going through a similar heartbreaking loss or quietly reflect on your own, and just know you’re not alone,” states the event page.

Attendees are reminded that ticket registration is required to secure candles for the night of the event. As a result, without a “ticket,” candles cannot be guaranteed.

Additionally, attendees are reminded that face masks are encouraged when social distancing cannot be maintained.
