Halton Hills council has unanimously approved the appointment of a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

At a meeting on Nov. 15, Chris Mills was appointed to the position of CAO effective immediately.

Mills, who has been acting in the CAO role since August 2020, has been leading the Town of Halton Hills’ recovery efforts and ensuring business operations continue. Additionally, he has been leading the advancement of Council’s strategic priorities.

“Council has confidence in the leadership that Chris has shown not just in these challenging times but throughout his career at the Town,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette.

“Chris brings significant experience and deep knowledge to the CAO role and I look forward to continuing to work with him.”

Mills has been an employee of the Town since 2004. He then became a department head in 2007, overseeing Transportation and Public Works until 2020 before being appointed to Commissioner of Corporate Services.

“I want to thank the Mayor and Council for their confidence in my ability to lead this diverse and vibrant organization.  We will remain focused on Council’s priorities while we deliver the top tier customer service that this community expects,” said Mills.
