Halton Hills is looking for professional artists to put their decorative touch on the town.

In an effort to enhance the streetscape and highlight the work of local artists, the town is inviting artists to submit designs to paint a utility box for the Bell Box Mural Project.

The Bell box being painted is located at 273 Delrex Blvd.

The artist selected will receive $1,792, plus HST for their work and will be responsible for the purchase of all the materials needed, including primary if necessary, to paint the box.

The selected box will be cleaned and a anti-graffiti overcoat provided by Bell Canada.

Artist or a team of artists can come up with a design made for just the project or reformat existing work they have.

The proposals must be received by email before 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The proposals will then be reviewed by a committee of art professionals and representatives from the community.

The winner will notified between Sept. 12-16.

Work on the box project is scheduled to take place between Oct. 1-8.
