In an effort to keep students and parents abreast of the situation, the Halton District School Board’s COVID-19 Advisory Committee is tracking the number of active confirmed positive COVID-19 cases at HDSB schools in the region.
For all confirmed cases, families and staff at the school are notified by letter, and Halton Region Public Health contacts any close contacts directly.
The HDSB notes that a positive case at a school does not necessarily mean the individual was exposed to COVID-19 at the school — they may have been exposed elsewhere in the community.
These are the schools/institutions with at least one active reported case of COVID-19:
- Brant Hills Public School – 1 confirmed case, 0 closed classrooms (school open)
- Garth Webb Secondary School – 1 confirmed case, 0 closed classrooms (school open)
More updates are expected as the school year proceeds.
The identities of individuals with positive cases are protected by privacy legislation and will not be shared, the HDSB says.
For more information on the procedures in the event of a positive COVID-19 case at a school, visit the HDSB website.
