The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is inviting families to learn about their Kindergarten programs.

While traditional in-person open houses for Kindergarten are not possible this year due to health restrictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the HDSB is inviting families to participate in a virtual experience.

Through the virtual experience, three-year-olds will be able to explore a classroom and see what it might look like next September.

Parents and guardians will also be able to learn about the Kindergarten programs, play-based learning, community resources in Halton and before-and-after school care. The experience will also feature videos, pictures and activities for children.

Families who are interested may sign-up to receive a welcome package from the HDSB that includes a free children’s book.

Registration for Kindergarten begins in January 2022 and will be by appointment only through the school that the child will be attending.

Further information will be shared early next year.

Families are reminded that in order to begin Kindergarten in September 2022, children must be four years old by Dec. 31, 2022, for Year 1 Kindergarten and must be five years old by Dec. 31, 2022, for Year 2 Kindergarten.
