Halton cops search for man approaching kids at a Burlington school

Halton police are looking for a man who was twice seen interacting with young children at an elementary school in Burlington.

On two different occasions, Sept. 23 and Sept. 30, the suspect was seen on the property of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Elementary School, 2222 Country Club Dr.

On both occasions, he was seen interacting with children and possibly taking pictures of them with his phone.

Both times he was confronted by school staff. The first time he fled the area on a bike, the second time on foot.

He is described as Asian, about 60 years old, 5-foot-8, clean shaven with dark, graying hair.

On Sept. 23, around 10:30 a.m., he was wearing a light grey jacket with bulging pockets and was riding a blue bike.

On Sept. 30, around 12:40 p.m., he was wearing a grey pullover sweatshirt, black baseball cap with a white emblem on the back, light-coloured framed glasses and white earbuds. He had a large black cellphone.

Halton Regional Police are looking for the public’s help in identifying him.
