The spooky season is here and the city has plenty of frightfully festive events this month to get you in the Halloween spirit in Brampton.

Halloween falls on a Thursday this year and there are plenty of activities and events for ghouls and goblins to enjoy before the big trick-or-treating night on Oct. 31, including the return of Brampton’s annual Fright Night series, a scary movie night and a Halloween dinner and dance open to all residents.

Here are some of the spooky happenings you can enjoy this October in Brampton:

Fright Nights

There are four free, family-friendly Fright Night events in Brampton this year starting on Oct. 18 at the Cassie Campbell Community Centre and Gore Meadows Community Centre.

The Halloween-themed events feature demonstrations by a “mad scientist,” arts and craft stations, games, a haunted house, treats, airbrush tattoos and much more.

Attendance if free and spots are limited on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation to the local Knights Table charity.

Inclusive Halloween Dinner & Dance

The city is inviting residents living with a disability to the Inclusive Halloween Dinner and Dance, back for another year thanks to sponsorship by the 407 ETR. The dinner and dance is open to residents over the age of 14 years old and older and includes activities like a costume contest, spot-dance prizes and more.

Tickets for the dinner and dance are $21.63 and tickets for the dance only are $10.81. Personal Support Workers are welcome to the event at no cost and are required to purchase a dinner-only ticket to participate in the dinner portion of the event.

Haunted Halloween Movie Night

This year will mark the first-ever Haunted Halloween Movie Night series. Similar to the Movies Under The Stars line-up enjoyed by Brampton movie lovers every year, the screenings will show Halloween classics and feature pre-show activities including magic shows and face painting.

The city will be screening the ’90s Disney Halloween favourite Hocus Pocus on Oct. 17 at the Save Max Sports Centre.

Halloween Fun at the Youth Hub

Teens, youth and young adults are invited to the Susan Fennell Youth Hub for a Halloween ceramic painting workshops and pumpkin carving and decorating contests. You can showcase your artistic abilities and win prizes.

The youth hub events run on Oct. 25 and Oct. 30 at the Susan Fennell Sportsplex Youth Hub.
