Police have charged a Mississauga resident with multiple counts of attempted murder following a shooting in Georgetown this week.
Shots ran out around 5:15 p.m. on Monday at a parking lot near Dominion Gardens Park, the the Halton Regional Police Service says.
Investigators say multiple rounds were fired into a parked vehicle and, while there were members of the public in the area at the time, no one was struck and no injuries were reported.
On Thursday, police said a 30-year-old Mississauga resident has been arrested and charged with multiple offences.
Halton police say Sattya Him, 30, of Mississauga, has been charged with two counts each of attempt murder and discharge firearm with intent, and one count each of unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, point firearm and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Investigators believe this was a targeted shooting and say there is no related risk to public safety. Police are not looking for any additional suspects.
