Guns, drugs worth $300K taken off Hamilton streets

Two prohibited firearms, and a quantity of cocaine with an estimated street value exceeding $300K were confiscated and taken off the streets this month (June 2023).

The vehicle associated with this criminal activity was also apprehended by police.

Among the recent arrests, two individuals from Hamilton face over 12 charges related to drug trafficking and firearm possession.

A 30-year-old and a 26-year old have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, proceeds of crime under $5,000 and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Due to the ongoing nature of the investigations, authorities have not released the identities of these individuals at this time

“This year alone, the Hamilton Police have made substantial strides in curbing the presence of firearms in the community, with a total of 153 firearms seized thus far.”

“Of particular concern, 84 of these firearms were identified as crime guns, recovered from various incidents ,” Hamilton Police said in a press release.
