Two suspects — one armed with a gun — came away empty-handed after trying to rob a downtown Milton jewellery store yesterday (Dec. 21).

According to Halton Regional Police reports, the men tried to enter the store in the Main St. E. and Charles St. area around 10 a.m. but found that the door was locked.

Thinking the men were customers, a worker at the store opened the door and invited them in. Once through the door, a struggle ensued and a gun was allegedly pulled by one of the suspects, according to reports.

When the pair couldn’t gain entry to the store, they took off. The worker at the store was not injured.

A description of the suspects has been released. Both are described as Black males, with one wearing a construction vest and winter jacket and the other wearing dark clothing and possibly a balaclava.

Anyone with information about this incident or video footage can contact police at 905-825-4747, through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.haltoncrimestoppers.ca.
