An investigation in gun trafficking in Ajax has led to the arrest of four men and the confiscation of three weapons, along with ammunition and cash.
Durham Police Guns and Gangs Unit officers wrapped up an investigation into firearm trafficking in Durham Region this month and executed a search warrant at a home in Ajax, with support from the DRPS Tactical Support Unit,
Four men were found inside and taken into custody. A search of the home discovered two handguns with overcapacity magazines, a replica Mac10 firearm, ammunition and Canadian currency.
Devante Boyce, 21, Darius Hamilton, 21 and Tristan Devounte Mitchell, 22 – all from Ajax – and Quinton Parr, 21, of Toronto, were each charged with seven weapons possession counts – including possession of a loaded gun.
Hamilton and Mitchell were also charged with possession of stolen property, while Hamilton (two counts) and Mitchell were also charged with fail to comply with release orders. A peace bond breach was also added to Hamilton’s rap sheet.
All were held for a bail hearing.
