Gun, pepper spray used in Oakville hotel robbery

A gun was pulled and pepper spray used to rob a man in an Oakville hotel room on Tuesday night (July 19).

According to reports a woman and a man got into an argument at the hotel located in the area of the QEW and Winston Church Blvd.

Halton Police say another man then barged into the room, punched the victim and pointed a gun demanding that a cellphone and watch be handed over. Police say that during the disturbance the woman used pepper spray on the victim.

The suspects then fled the area in a vehicle but police made arrests a short time later.

Subsequently and 18-year-old woman from Quebec was charged with assault with a weapon, unauthorized possession of a credit card, possession of a forged document, possession of a counterfeit documents.

A 21-year-old Quebec man was charged with robbery with a firearm and possession of a firearm. The gun was not located.

Their names have not been released.
