Gun and drug charges laid against Brampton man after traffic stop in Mississauga

A Brampton man is facing multiple gun and drug charges after police pulled over a suspected impaired driver early Monday morning (Aug. 7) in Mississauga’s east end.

Peel Regional Police say officers pulled over a vehicle near Dundas St. E. and Dixie Rd. at about 6:30 a.m.

Subsequent investigation resulted in the seizure of a 9mm Magnum pistol, ammunition and drugs, police say.

O’Shane Dixon, 26, of Brampton, is charged with:

  • impaired operation of a motor vehicle
  • knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition readily accessible
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • possession of a prohibited device or ammunition knowing its possession is unauthorized
  • possession of a controlled substance

He was held for a bail hearing in Brampton court.
