Peel Public Health (PPH) is asking guests at an overnight birthday event in Brampton last month to get tested for COVID-19.

PPH said there has been an outbreak of COVID-19 stemming from an event at the Chandni Convention Centre on Oct. 23 and 24.

Officials are advising anyone who attended the event to seek immediate testing for COVID-19.

“All guests should get tested, regardless of vaccination status,” PPH said in a release.

PPH said individuals who are not fully vaccinated and refuse testing must self-isolate for 20 days.

Fully vaccinated individuals who are not showing symptoms of COVID-19 do not need to isolate while waiting for their test results.

But PPH said vaccinated attendees of the even “should continue to follow precautions such as masking, physical distancing and limiting contacts while waiting for test results.”

You can find information on how to get tested for COVID-19 by visiting www.peelregion.ca.

Everyone seeking testing because of the exposure should give testers the following outbreak number: 2253-2021-49523

Information on how to self-isolate can be found at Coronavirus self-isolation page.

The Chandni Convention Centre is located at 5 Gateway Blvd. in Brampton.
