A 14-year-old girl is in life-threatening condition, at last report, after she was hit in Grimsby on Monday morning by a black H3 Hummer SUV being driven by a 17-year-old girl.

Niagara Regional Police (NRPS) issued an update on a collision that closed a stretch of Livingston Ave. for much of the day on Monday. They said that the pedestrian’s injuries were determined to be life-threatening after she arrived at an out-of-region hospital.

Initial dispatches called the situation “a serious collision.”

The most recent updates did not include great details about the causes of the collision. The NRPS collision reconstruction unit, assisted by the forensic services unit, were called in to determine the circumstances and cause of the collision.

Livingston Ave. reopened after 5 p.m., after being closed from Slesssor Ave. to Kidd Ave. for several hours.

Anyone who might have witnessed this incident or have information is asked to contact NRPS detectives (905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009170).
