Free tastings at the Forty Creek Distillery in Grimsby have been the norm for decades but now they’re taking it a huge step further.
Starting June 9 and running through the summer, the distillery is creating the first-ever Niagara Whisky Guild and within it, a three-course master class that’s the perfect summer activity for enthusiasts to gain hands-on whisky knowledge from the Forty Creek’s Master Blender since 1992, Bill Ashburn and Campari Academy Ambassador Chris Thompson.
Each course will provide participants with a unique experience including but not limited to:
- A deep dive into the whisky industry
- Forty Creek’s origins and impact on the Canadian whisky industry
- Cocktail techniques led by top mixologists and bartenders from the GTA
- The art of aging and a behind-the-scenes tour of the Forty Creek Distillery
- Opportunity to taste best-in-class whiskies
Courses run throughout the months of June and July and spots are limited to ensure all participants are offered an intimate, hands-on experience with the experts at Forty Creek, named Whisky Maker of the Decade at the 2020 Canadian Whisky Awards.
“New this year, visitors can also embark on a captivating self-guided tour of the newly unveiled Forty Creek 4D Museum Wall, a multi-sensory experience and art installation where you can immerse yourself in the Forty Creek story.”
