Green initiatives will keep Burlington residents busy this year
Clearing the beach of litter will be the focus of a Burlington environmental group on Earth Day.
On April 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. everyone is invited to Burlington Beach at the Eco-Hub Headquarters to join with BurlingtonGreen for the day-long activities that include the clean-up of litter, a guided tree walk and other activities mean to show your appreciation for the environment. The Burlington Repair Cafe will also be hand on to help with fixing up household items that would otherwise end up in landfill.
Meanwhile, BurlingtonGreen’s “Clean Up Green Up” campaign has returned with the goal of eliminating litter city-wide.
The organization invites residents to organize local clean-up campaigns with the expectation of having 15,000 participants this year.
Bags, gloves and maps of potential clean-up areas are available and can be obtained by contacting the organization through its website.
