Grand opening of Brampton’s new Youth Hub at Susan Fennell Sportsplex next week

The City is getting ready to celebrate the grand opening of the Susan Fennell Sportsplex Youth Hub with a full week of events for Brampton’s youth to enjoy.
May 1st is the start of National Youth Week, which recognizes the contributions of youth to the community, including volunteerism, sport, and leadership.
Brampton will be marking youth week with the grand opening of the new Youth Hub at the Susan Fennell Sportsplex with activities, events and workshops like a pool party, eSports tournament, and even a chance to face off against the Brampton Honey Badgers for some basketball action.
“We are thrilled to welcome so many to the Susan Fennell Sportsplex Youth Hub’s grand opening and look forward to adding this resource for the young people in our community,” Coun. Rowena Santos said in a statement.
The City closed part of the sportsplex to develop the youth hub which the City says will provide “a one-stop-shop for youth between the ages of 14 and 29 to create, connect and support each other.”
The youth hub will feature modern designs and leading-edge technology including an E-sports lounge, and creator tools for video and music production like a pull-down green screen for video special effects.

The grand opening of the Youth Hub is on Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will offer guests a chance to take in the new space and its amenities.
Then on Thursday, there will be a “Pass the Mic” open mic night for youth poets, singers, rappers and comedians between the ages of 13 and 19 at Cyril Clark Brampton. For more information click here.
The City’s National Youth Week plans also include a scavenger hunt, a park clean-up at Teramoto Park and Duncan Foster Valley, a job information fair, dance, and more.
