Mississauga lottery winner.

Valentine’s Day, the universal day of love, also proved lucky for Manuela Pascoal in another way this year.

The Mississauga woman won $50,000 in the Feb. 14 Lotto 6/49 Super Draw. Her ticket was good for one of the 20 $50,000 prizes awarded.

For Pascoal, it was her first big win after playing the lottery regularly for two decades. She told OLG officials she always plays the same numbers that are significant to her.

Pascoal discovered her windfall using the OLG App and, like most big winners, didn’t believe it at first.

“I wasn’t sure what I was looking at,” she said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “I took it to the store because I wasn’t convinced it was real.”

Pascoal’s plans for the money are pretty straightforward.

“I plan to pay some bills and I might treat myself to something special with my husband,” she said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart, on Wellington Street in Toronto.
