GO train service just started at this station in Ontario

GO train service has been expanded to an additional station.

Metrolinx said the first train rolled out of Confederation GO station at 5:50 a.m. Monday, marking its official opening on the Lakeshore West Line.

It’s located in the Centennial Parkway North and Queen Elizabeth Way area of Hamilton.

It has already served GO buses for several years, but now all existing trains that travel to and from Niagara Falls will be also stopping at the station.

Metrolinx said select trips to and from West Harbour GO will also extend to Confederation GO.

Confederation GO will have a total of 13 weekday and 15 weekend train trips.

It features 148 new parking spots and a pick-up / drop-off area with space for 15 vehicles.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford said the new station will add nearly half a million more rides between Niagara Falls and Union Station every year.
