A giant used book sale returns to Mississauga this month.

The Mississauga Symphony Orchestra’s Giant Used Book Sale returns to the Sheridan Centre for the 28th year.

Organizers gather thousands of donated books and other items for the annual sale.

The sale will feature fiction and non-fiction fiction books, vinyl records, DVDs, CDs at $1 each, puzzles, board games and sheet music.

This year’s collectables include DC comics and Disney coffee table books. All items are in excellent condition, according to organizers.

The Giant Used Book Sale is a vital fundraiser for the orchestra, according to organizers. Revenue generated from the sale is used to present and support each concert season, fund the rapidly expanding Mississauga Symphony Youth Orchestra, and assist with projects such as a fully staged opera.

The book sale is at Sheridan Centre Mall (Sherwood Village), 2225 Erin Mills Pkwy. on the lower level.

It is held over four days starting on Thursday, Sept. 14 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; then Friday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On the final day, all items are half price.

Donations are now closed for this year’s sale.
