A giant, 12-foot puppet will come to Mississauga as part of Luminato Festival Toronto.

Walk with Amal is a 12-foot puppet created in the likeness of a 10-year-old Syrian girl.  The Handspring Puppet Company, known for the hit play War Horse, designed and built Amal, according to the Walk with Amal website.

She is meant to carry a message of hope for displaced people everywhere, especially children who have been separated from their families.

“Little Amal has become an international symbol of compassion and of human rights,” the website reads.
