A new Ontario DriveTest Centre is set to open at Shoppers World Brampton later this year, giving residents expanded access to driver testing services.
“DriveTest is on the way to Shoppers World Brampton, making it easier to access driver licensing and testing close to home,” the mall said on its website. “We’re excited to keep growing for the future and bringing new services to the community we call home.”
DriveTest, a private organization authorized by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, manages driver licensing and examinations across the province.
At the new location, customers will be able to complete vision tests, written knowledge exams and road tests for a range of vehicle classes, including cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles.
Beginner drivers can take G1 multiple-choice tests on a walk-in basis, while G2 and full G road tests will be available by appointment. These exams evaluate key driving skills such as highway merging, turning and parking.
Brampton currently has just one DriveTest centre, located at 59 First Gulf Blvd., Unit 9.
Residents looking to renew their licences can continue to visit ServiceOntario locations across the city, including sites at 125 Chrysler Drive, 10 Peel Centre Drive, 1 Wexford Road and 8850 McLaughlin Road South.
An official opening date for the new DriveTest location has not yet been announced.
