The start to the long weekend might get a bit bumpy for many Hamilton motorists who plan to use one of the city’s busiest roads.

The City of Hamilton said drivers should be prepared for delays tomorrow (May 20) on Barton St. W. from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. as lane restrictions will be in place.

The temporary closures “could cause temporary disruptions to commuters,” the City said.

The restrictions will be in place on Barton S. W., at James St. N. and MacNab St. N., as water crews excavate and replace a water service line, according to the City.

During these hours, commuters are advised to take alternate routes or adjust their travel plans to minimize inconvenience.
