Gas prices to drop by 11 cents per litre in Mississauga and across Ontario: Analyst

We can expect to see a huge drop in gas prices this weekend, according to an industry analyst.

Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, says gas prices will drop 11 cents across Ontario on Sunday, Nov. 28 — the biggest single-day drop in more than a decade.

McTeague, who urged people to hold off on buying gas until Sunday, says the cause of the price drop is an “overreaction” to the new COVID-19 variant detected from South Africa.

He says other parts of Canada will also see this drop, including Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and B.C.
