If you don’t want to pay more for gas, fill up your tank today (Sept. 29) in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and the rest of Southern Ontario,

Fuel price analysts predict prices will jump 5 cents per litre heading into the early hours of Friday morning with the average price settling in at $153. 9 cents by the time of your morning commute.

As well, experts say prices will continue to rise as we head into the fall as our economy deals with the impacts of tropical storms, the war in the Ukraine and the weak Canadian dollar.

Canadians for Affordable Energy, a group that monitors fuel prices, believes all of these factors will lead to increased demand which will propel prices higher in October and November.

Gas prices have fluctuated heavily since the beginning of the year after hitting record lowers during the early part of the pandemic. Just last week prices in Southern Ontario bottomed out at $143.9 cents per litre.
