Gas prices about to take a massive plunge in Ontario

After a sudden jump at the pumps, relief is on the way, but it may not last long.

According to fuel price analyst Dan McTeague, gas prices that surged by 9 cents per litre on Saturday are expected to reverse course quickly over the next two days.

Drivers can expect prices to fall by 7 cents per litre on Sunday, followed by an even steeper 11-cent drop on Monday. That two-day slide would erase the weekend spike and bring some short-term relief to motorists across Ontario.

However, the break at the pumps won’t stick around for long.

Prices are projected to hold steady through Tuesday, before rising again on Wednesday, continuing the pattern of volatility that has defined gas markets in recent weeks.

The rapid swings highlight ongoing uncertainty in fuel pricing, where shifts can happen within days—leaving drivers timing fill-ups more carefully than ever.

For now, those looking to save may want to plan accordingly, with Monday shaping up to be the lowest point before prices climb again midweek.
