Gas line damage closes stretch of Mayfield Drive in Brampton

Drivers are being asked to avoid a stretch of Mayfield Rd. in Brampton after a gas line was hit by construction equipment this morning (Oct. 28).
Peel Regional Police have closed the eastbound lanes of Mayfield Rd. from Airport Rd. to Goreway Dr. after a gas line in the area was hit by an excavator.
The road closures are expected to be in place for most of Friday, and drivers are being asked to avoid the area if possible and find alternate routes.
Officials say there is no need for evacuations and there have been no injuries reported.
