Suspicious vehicle leads police to forged documents and charges for Brampton man

Charges have been laid against three people including two from Brampton after a gas theft led police to a stolen car.

The heist happened on Monday but was no April Fool’s prank as the OPP say officers were called to a gas bar on Wellington County Rd 109 near Arthur, approximately 45 kilometres north of Guelph.

Police say the driver of a black Hyundai Elantra fled the scene after the theft but officers tracked the vehicle to Caledon.

That’s when three occupants of the Hyundai tried to make a break from officers on foot who were later arrested by police.

Kulwant Singh Bajwa, 26, and Surinder Sidhu Singh, 25, both of Brampton, and Ramanjot Singh Dhillon, 23, of Windsor were all arrested and charged with multiple offences. Each of the accused were charged with one count each of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, while Bajwa and Dhillon were also charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Bajwa was also charged for allegedly obstructing a peace officer and possession of break-in instruments.

All of the accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville at a later date to answer the charges.

Police say the Hyundai was recovered in Caledon.
