So, it looks like this coming weekend (Oct. 21-23) might be a good one for staying local because the Gardiner Expressway will be closed.
The major route that connects Mississauga and Toronto will be closed from Hwy 427 to the Don Valley Parkway from Friday, Oct. 21 to Monday, Oct. 24. It will close at 11 p.m. on Friday night and re-open 5:00 a.m. Monday morning.
The closure is due to routine fall maintenance.
If you’re worried about extreme gridlock getting in or out of TO this weekend, it might be best to stay in the city. If you plan on traveling to TO, give yourself a little extra time or consider public transport instead.
