The birds in the trees are now being joined by birdies on the golf course, as spring’s arrival means the Garden City Golf Course is now open.

The golf course opened for the season on Monday (April 24) and will be operating seven days a week through to the fall.

To open the season golfers can enjoy nine holes for $12.40 and rounds of 18 for $23.70 on weekdays. On weekends, players can get nine in for just $16.05 and a round of 18 for $24.80. Spring green fees will be in effect until prime season opens in June.

“We are hoping for some great weather as we get back into the swing for spring,” said Rob Vasko, golf course supervisor.

“We’re excited to bring back our Twilight Golf promotion this season to go along with our other specials such as weekday golf-and-ride and our multiple-round activity packs.”

While the course is now open, the City will be conducting some planned improvements at the clubhouse and to the barrier netting over the next couple of months, prior to prime rates taking effect in June. There may be some disruptions for golfers during that time.

Garden City Golf Course is an 18-hole executive course located at 37 Lincoln Ave. The 60-par course is owned and operated by the City of St. Catharines and features a licensed pro shop and patio, putting and chipping green, practice driving cages and a licensed clubhouse and patio overlooking the first tee.

Tee times can be booked online HERE, or by phone at 905.688.5601, ext. 1677.
