Four teenagers from Mississauga have been arrested in connection with a series of robberies at pharmacies across the GTA.

Peel Regional Police believe the four are responsible for targeting six pharmacies.

None of the four can be named because they are underage.

A break in the case happened yesterday (April 7) just before 1 p.m. when three masked suspects burst into a shop in the Ninth Line and Doug Leaven Blvd. area of Mississauga. Police believe the gang grabbed prescription drugs and cash before fleeing in a stolen car.

However, police officers in the vicinity saw the fleeing vehicle and called in uniformed backup including the OPP who were able to stop the car and make the arrests. All of the stolen items from that day’s heist were recovered.

Subsequently, investigators from Peel’s Central Robbery Bureau working with Toronto Police Hold-Up Squad connected the four suspects with one other pharmacy in Peel Region and four in Toronto.

Three 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old, all males from Mississauga, have been charged with six counts of robbery, six counts of wearing a disguise with intent to commit a crime and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

The four have been held for a bail hearing.
