If you like to enjoy a little culinary theatre with your food, you might be excited to hear that a highly-anticipated restaurant recently opened its doors in Mississauga.

Hibachi Teppanyaki & Bar, whose signage went up earlier this year, has officially taken over the site once occupied by Canyon Creek steakhouse.

The resto is located in Mississauga’s downtown core, just across from Square One.

Hibachi Teppanyaki & Bar describes itself as the “ultimate dining experience like no other”, in which Japanese cuisine is cooked on an iron griddle right in front of customers.

The chefs are very well trained in handling their cooking tools on the grill.

“The master chefs will dazzle you with their samurai-like swordsmanship as they slice, dice, juggle and entertain while preparing delicious food on the sizzling grill,” the restaurant says on its website.

As far as food goes, the resto offers sushi and a range of teppanyaki sets with a choice of tofu, chicken, shrimp, scallops, beef, lobster tails and more.

The brand currently operates four other restaurants in Toronto, Oakville, Burlington and Vaughan and plans to open more new locations in North York and Scarborough.

After more than 15 years at that location, Canyon Creek closed permanently in January 2021, citing business lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
