Fugitive facing charges in Maritimes may be in Mississauga

A man who faces two arrest warrants in New Brunsick might be in the Mississauga area.

On Friday evening, Peel Regional Police asked the public for help in an investigation where they are supporting the Woodstock, N.B., police force. The latter are trying to locate 30-year-old Ramone Anthony Burrell, who no-showed for a court appearance in Woodstock this week. The criminal investigation bureau of the Peel police is working with their counterparts in the Martime province.

“It is believed that he may be in the @citymississauga area,” Peel police said on social media. “If seen, please call police.”

Charges of criminal harassment, intimidation, and obstruction of justice were laid against Burrell last week. A second arrest warrant was issued after he failed to appear in court on Wednesday. He also faced additional charges for assault and assault with a weapon related to investigations by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Burrell is described as standing five-foot-10 with a heavy build. He has short black hair, black eyes, and tends to wear dark clothing.

Burrell is known to drive a 2014 black Nissan Sentra with New Brunswick licence plate number JLR-999. He also has access to a 2003 Black GMC Envoy with New Brunswick licence plate number JSN-586 and a black 2007 Pontiac Torrent with New Brunswick licence plate number JVX-368.

Anyone who sees Ramone Anthony Burrell should not approach him. They should contact police immediately.

Woodstock is a community of about 5,600 people in the western part of New Brunswick, near the Canada-United States border. It is about 103 kilometres west of Fredericton on the Trans-Canada Highway.
