A security camera video shared online shows three people breaking into a Georgetown home while the residents were inside.

The video, shared on Facebook, shows three people wearing hoodies and masks approaching the front door of the home on Danby Road around 3 a.m. yesterday (May 18).

Halton Regional Police report the break-and-enter incident at 3:12 a.m. on May 18 on the online crime map. Police tell inhalton.com they are investigating but there have been no arrests yet.

In the video, one person steps back and kicks the door, breaking it open. Two people enter the home and a few seconds later, return with a box.

They head out to the driveway and attempt to steal a car but the resident comes to the door and shouts, “Hey!”

Two thieves drive away in a car and the third person runs down the street yelling “yo, yo, yo”.

The getaway vehicle turns around and picks up the person they left behind.

The poster wrote that the thieves got into the home, grabbed their car keys and attempted to steal their cars.

When the residents shouted, the thieves panicked and left the cars, the Facebook post reads. Fortunately, the thieves didn’t steal anything but the resident warns homeowners to take care.

“Just make sure you lock your vehicles and doors properly at night,” the poster writes.
