Coffee enthusiasts will soon have a new spot to sip, savour and unwind with the arrival of a café in Durham dedicated to thoughtful brews and fresh baked goods.

TrueNote Coffee is opening its first location at 73 Fiesta Way in Whitby.

According to truenotecoffee.com, the company was founded by Shamma and Saleem on the belief that every cup tells a story.

The café aims to make specialty coffee more approachable, blending modern design with a community-focused atmosphere that invites guests to slow down and enjoy their brew with intention.

The business notes on its website that it sources ethically grown beans from around the world, from Ethiopia’s citrusy highlands to Colombia’s innovative farms and roasts them in small batches to highlight each origin’s unique character.

TrueNote’s coffee lineup includes espresso, batch brew, cortado, latte, cappuccino, caramel macchiato, and café mocha.

Iced options range from iced lattes and caramel macchiatos to pistachio and Biscoff lattes, raspberry espresso tonic, and yuzu espresso tonic.

Non-coffee drinks include black and herbal teas, iced and hot matcha lattes, coconut matcha, pandan float, and ube float.

Fresh baked goods feature croissants — butter, almond, pistachio, and chocolate — along with cookies, brownies, tres leches cake, and banana loaf.

TrueNote will officially open on Sept. 8, launching with a fall drink menu and seasonal baked treats to complement its specialty coffee.
