Flights into and out of Pearson Airport in Mississauga could be delayed by a round of freezing rain in the area today (March 7).
As a result, airport officials are urging travellers to check the status of their flight before leaving for the airport, if possible.
Pearson Airport said via Twitter this morning that the freezing rain is already impacting some flights.
Freezing rain has started in S. Ontario, which is impacting flights. If you’re flying into or out of Pearson today, please check your flight status with your airline or on our website before leaving for the airport: https://t.co/XrhUGbg2AX

The weather forecast in Mississauga and across the GTA calls for freezing rain, causing icy and slippery surfaces.
“Freezing rain, at times mixed with ice pellets, is expected this morning mainly north of Hwy. 407. Ice accretion of several millimetres may be possible on untreated surfaces. The freezing rain is expected to transition to snow, possibly mixed with ice pellets, around midday,” a freezing rain warning issued by Environment Canada states.
“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.”
