The GoFundMe from the “Freedom Convoy” has a fictitious post from St. Catharines Mayor Walter Sendzik that expressed his “support” for the protest.

A Victoria, BC reporter was going through the GoFundMe post and found the entry allegedly posted by Sendzik.

Oddly, while the fake image got “Catharines” spelled correctly, the post spelled his last name as “Sendzick” with a ‘c’.

Sendzik told a local radio station that had the western reporter not spotted the fictitious post, he wouldn’t have had any idea.

Granted, the wording of the post alone would have tipped off any local resident to the fact that it was clearly not Sendzik as it indicates the mayor has switched sides in the dispute.

It read: “As the Mayor of St Catharines, I have been doing what I was told and following the narrative but now I am siding with the people instead of the corrupt government who are clearly under the influence of money hungry, power hungry pharmaceutical companies, billionaires and bankers who use the pandemic as a  way of implementing a global digitally controlled society.”

Talking to the radio station, Sendzik expressed concern that “this is how easily the truth can be manipulated.”

The post uses the official Niagara Regional photo of Sendzik wearing his chain of office.
