Milton families are invited to celebrate Family Literacy Day with a morning of skating and storytelling at the Milton Sports Centre.

The fun kicks off with a family skate Friday, Jan. 27, at 9:15 a.m. Families are invited to join members of the Milton Public Library for a story read-a-long, activities and crafts after their skate in the Kinder Room (located on the upper level, beside the walking track) starting at 10:15 a.m.

Family Literacy Day is an annual national awareness initiative established in 1999 to raise awareness of the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family.

To register for the skate, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 24, visit here. Registration is not required for the story read-a-long hosted by the Milton Public Library.

The Milton Sports Centre is located at 605 Santa Maria Blvd.
