Free prenatal service launches as part of new digital program for Mississauga and Brampton residents

A free online prenatal program is the first of several new online programs being developed by Peel Region to help residents in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon.

The program is designed to assist parents who need a more flexible schedule, are on bed rest, or prefer self-directed online learning in the convenience of their home. It offers essential information related to pregnancy that’s reviewed and updated daily, as well as helpful videos, quizzes and more tools.

Residents can register for free at Peel Region’s website.

The prenatal program is the first service being offered as part of the Digital Peel Program, a multi-year program aiming to help residents quickly find important service information online, such as eligibility, fees, and how to apply for certain services in Peel.

Plans are underway to design and implement a core set of 27 online services for the new digital program, which will allegedly cut down on costs by not using channels such as regular mail, in-person, and phone options.

“Digital Peel will modernize our business processes and save taxpayers money,” said Peter Parsan, Chief Information Officer for Peel Region.

Additionally, the service will replace several older online forms with new forms that “reduce security risks, enable process efficiencies, and ensure accessibility.” The new forms will cover the following services:

1. Water billing account change
2. Special event application for organizers and vendors
3. New business or changes to a business
4. Customer feedback
5. Formal complaint
6. TransHelp eligibility appeal
7. Public Health property information request
8. Breastfeeding companions program registration
9. Stagnant water reporting
10.  Childcare services feedback
11.  Critical water user registration
12.  Accessible format request
13.  Pool, spa or splash pad opening notification
14.  Adopt-a-road application
15. Peel health professionals onboarding registration
16. Peel health professionals COVID vaccine ordering
