Free mobile skate parks in Pickering

The Free Mobile Skate Park Pop-Up program will continue all month in Pickering.

The Mobile Skate Park, which was developed with support from the Jumpstart Sport Relief Fund, will be available for residents six and up on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at various locations through August.

Those attending will be required to bring their own skateboard and protective equipment. Participants will be required to sign a waiver and screener before participating. Those under 16 will require a parent/guardian signature on the waiver. Participation will be on a first come first serve basis with no registration required.

The mobile skate part will be at Don Beer Arena today from noon to 4:30. The rest of the times/locations are:

Saturday August 14: 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Nelson Tomlinson CC
Monday August 16: 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at West Shore CC
Wednesday August 18: Noon to 4:30 p.m. at Chestnut Hill RC
Saturday August 21: 9:30 – 2 p.m. at Nelson Tomlinson CC
Monday August 23: 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at East Shore CC
Wednesday August 25: Noon to 4:30 at West Shore CC
Saturday August 28: 9:30 – 2 at Don Beer Arena
Monday August 30: 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Chestnut Hill RCC

The City of Pickering is one of 668 sport and recreation organizations across the country to be provided with grant support, receiving $15,000 to assist with strategies to return to sport and recreation programming.

All programs will follow the Provincial and Health Department guidelines.
