Free live music series hits downtown Brampton this weekend

Music lovers in Brampton can take in some free live shows this weekend across the city.
Artists will be performing at local restaurants in Brampton on Saturday (May 14) with more performances planned in coming weeks as part of the Activate Downtown Brampton series put on by the Downtown Brampton Business Improvement Area.
From latin pop to jazz and R&B, there will be lots of tunes to take in this weekend..
Here’s a list of what artists are performing and where you can find them on Saturday:
- Pop singer/songwriter Shelisa Akbar will be performing at the Main St. South Patio
- Carla Gonzalez will be bringing a mix of salsa and latin pop to Segovia Coffee Co.
- Jaz duo Raquel Skilich and Josh Sparks will be performing a blend of classics and pop on the Freshly Thai patio
- Kibra Tesfaye will be performing R&B and soul at the open window on Lot 25 Restaurant
All the shows start at 12 p.m. and run until 2 p.m., except for the performance by Kibra Tesfaye which will run until 4 p.m.
Activate Downtown Brampton is a series of interactive installations and activations taking place in downtown Brampton from May until October .

The project is a collaboration between the Downtown Brampton BIA and The City of Brampton with musical performances planned for every Saturday.
