Nothing say a new British monarch than checking out Monarch butterflies for free.

On May 6, the day of the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, Niagara Parks will offer free admission to both the Floral Showhouse and the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls.

The King’s Coronation will mark the first coronation of a Canadian Head of State since the late Queen Elizabeth II was crowned on June 2, 1953.

The coronation actually coincides with the Floral Showhouse opening for the season and they’re kicking off their season with a colourful and photo-worthy Hydrangea Display.

“The Ontario government is celebrating the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III by inviting everyone to visit the Floral Showhouse and the Butterfly Conservatory for free on May 6,” said Neil Lumsden, Ontario Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport.

“Whether it’s your first time visiting or you’re a regular guest, I encourage you to take advantage of this exciting opportunity and experience everything Niagara Parks has to offer.”

Niagara Parks Chair April Jeffs added, “Niagara Parks is proud to join the Ontario government and other cultural attractions by taking part in this provincial initiative to help Ontarians commemorate this historic event.”

From 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. on May 6, Niagara Falls will be illuminated in emerald green, joining other landmarks across the province and country.
