Free Brampton META Arts Festival celebrates music, art and tech this weekend

Get ready for two days of free arts, entertainment and technology in Brampton as the META Arts Festival gears up for some stellar performances this weekend.

Brampton City Hall Conservatory will host the annual festival that celebrates the blend of entertainment, technology and art in Brampton with live performance and digital art installations.

The festival is back for an in-person experience after going virtual during the COVID-19 pandemic and is put on by the Arts & Culture Initiative of South Asia (ACISA) to help promote cross-cultural understanding through art, literature, music, dance, theatre, film, storytelling and more.

Saturday’s lineup starts off at 6:00 p.m. with a video DJ performance from DJ Law and an interview with digital artist Sadé at 7:30 p.m., discussing her work as a digital illustrator. The night will round out with performances by Nicole Chambers and her live band, as well as artists pHoenix Pagliacci, EverythingOShauN, and Thelonious.

Performances on Sunday get going at 4:00 p.m. with a set from DJ B Bad, followed by a conversation with beat maker and producer DATSUNN at 5:00 p.m. discussing how technology has influenced his career creating music. The festival will close out strong with more performances including a live beat set for Astro Mega, and AIRMOVES Silent Disco with deejays DJ B Bad, DJ Shai and Mista Jiggz.

Tickets are free for both the Saturday and Sunday performances at the Brampton City Hall Conservatory.
