A free ADHD and anxiety workshop for parents is being offered in Milton this week.

According to the event page, the workshop will aim to help parents who may have a child who struggles to calm down, regulate their emotions or sit to get school work done.

The free live workshop will offer parents the opportunity to get answers that may help their child’s concentration, grades, temperament and sleep issues.

It will also aim at helping parents understand the steps they can take to calm the master control system of the body.

While this workshop is not a treatment or cure for ADHD or anxiety, it is a way for parents to learn about the system of reconnecting the brain and the body so that a child’s body can function better.

“Many of the kids we work with say they have trouble turning off their brain to go to bed, they have butterflies or an upset tummy from anxiety,” reads the workshop’s page.

“With a more calm brain-body connection, the body has the potential to heal and coordinate itself better.”

The workshop will take place on Thursday, Sept. 22 from 7:30 p.m to 8:30 p.m. at the Milton Sports Centre, located at 605 Santa Maria Blvd.
