Fox News host Jesse Watters told Ontario Premier Doug Ford that “it would be a privilege to be taken over by the United States” today during a televised interview.
The two men went toe-to-toe on Watters’ program, Jesse Watters Primetime, where Ford came on as a guest to discuss the discourse eating up airwaves concerning President-Elect Donald Trump’s statements on the annexation of Canada by the United States.
While numerous political heavy hitters have challenged the matter — particularly the validity of such a political shakedown — Ford instead opted to go on Watters’s program to promote his ‘Fortress Am-Can’ incentive.
An initiative proposed earlier today that Ford believes will be a silver bullet to strengthen economic relations between the U.S. and Canada in the wake of the looming Trump hostilities and tariffs.
“We can create ‘Fortress Am-Can,” stated Ford during the interview with Watters. “ We have the critical minerals, we have the energy, we have the electricity that America needs, and there’s only one place I want to sell it to.”
However, during the four-minute interview, Watters remained unmoved and stuck to his pro-annexation convictions.
“You can sell it to us, or we can all own it together,” stated Watters when discussing making Canada the ‘51st state.’ “You say it isn’t for sale, but, everything has a price,” continued Watters in his tirade.
Watters then pressed Ford about the ‘hostile’ nature Canadians have towards annexation, further adding to his remarks of the ‘privilege’ of a U.S. takeover by stating, “That’s what everybody else in the world wants — American citizenship. For some reason, that’s repellant to you Canadians.”
Ford then touted that Canadians are proud of their resolve and attempted to address the economic variables impacting Canada and the U.S. — to which Watters promptly ended the interview by stating “So this may just have to be a hostile takeover.”
