Fourteen new Covid cases in Durham; Oshawa still lagging in vaccinations

After 43 new cases on Friday and Saturday, the number of new Covid-19 cases reported in Durham Region dropped to 14 yesterday.

Pickering recorded the highest total for the three-day period with 15 cases – five each day. Clarington also recorded five on Friday while Oshawa – which recorded just one new case Sunday – had the highest number of new Covid cases Saturday with seven.

The number of Delta variant cases has now reached 193, with six active. Three people are in hospital, but none are in ICU.

Oshawa is still lagging on vaccinations, with just 68.7 per cent of the 18-plus population fully vaccinated. Durham-wide, 72.4 per cent of residents 12-and-over are now fully vaccinated, while 78.9 per cent have received at least one dose.
