Four-way stop coming to residential intersection in Milton

A local intersection in Milton will be getting a new four-way stop after tonight’s Town Council meeting.

The stop signs will be coming to the intersection of Ferguson Dr. and Hearst Blvd., just north of Omagh.

Local residents had been making requests for a full stop at the intersection since at least 2005, but local traffic never quite met the criteria to implement it.

However, a recent criteria change from the provincial government meant the intersection is now eligible. Stop signs will be added to both north and south bound Ferguson Dr.

The cost to make the changes is about $1,200 and is already accounted for in the 2023 operating budget.
