Lane closed Burlington construction

Four lanes on the QEW in Mississauga will shut down to traffic each night/overnight through the end of September as work continues on the highway bridge over the Credit River.

Two eastbound lanes from Erin Mills Parkway to the Credit River Bridge and a pair of westbound lanes from Hurontario Street to Erin Mills Parkway will be impacted by the nightly closures, which will continue through Sept. 29 at various times between as early as 10 p.m. and as late as 8 a.m. the following mornings.

Officials with the QEW/Credit River Improvement Project overseeing the major bridge rehabilitation work say the lane closures include weekends as well.

Meanwhile, drivers are reminded that two QEW ramps will close to traffic this Thursday night into Friday morning.

The South Sheridan Way on-ramp to QEW eastbound and the eastbound off-ramp to Hurontario Street will fully close from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Project leaders also remind motorists and residents that Premium Way, between Stavebank Road and Lynchmere Avenue, are reduced to one lane between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays until Sept. 15.

Temporary nighttime/overnight closures have been commonplace since 2022 both on the QEW and nearby roads due to the massive project that began two years ago.

More traffic disruptions are anticipated as work continues in the coming months. Night and weekend work along the 2.6-km stretch of the QEW from Hurontario Street to Mississauga Road is expected to impact traffic for the duration of the project.
