Four Ontario residents, all from the Durham region, are facing charges in connection with a guns and gangs investigation.

Durham police say that on July 17, investigators with the police service’s guns and gangs unit concluded an investigation into a male who was alleged to be in possession of a firearm and involved in drug trafficking.

Police say the suspect and a woman were located in a vehicle in Ajax and taken into custody without incident.

Police allege that a subsequent search of the vehicle found over three kilograms (six pounds) of suspected fentanyl.

Investigators later executed a search warrant at a residence in Pickering where a second woman was located and taken into custody without incident.

Police allege a loaded firearm with a prohibited overcapacity magazine and a replica Uzi firearm were located in the home. The loaded firearm was, according to police, confirmed stolen from Georgia, USA.

On July 19, a fourth outstanding suspect turned himself in to police.

Police say 25-year-old Pickering man Jaelin Jared Gamble, 32-year-old Ajax woman Natasha Marie Rotta, 27-year-old Pickering woman Allyson Mae Adams and 25-year-old Pickering man Isaiah Derrick Adams are facing a number of drug and gun-related charges, with the former two facing trafficking-related charges and the latter two facing gun-related charges.

All were held for a bail hearing.

The charges have not been proven in court.
